"Happy marriages begin when we marry the ones we love, and they blossom when we love the ones we marry" -Tom Mullen"
Once you have set a date for your wedding, consider two main factors for selecting a venue. First, decide whether you are thinking of an outdoor wedding or an indoor one. Deciding on whether you want an outdoor or indoor wedding is really dependant on the time of year for your ceremony and personal taste. Make this decision first and proceed from there.
Second, always have a budget in mind when looking for a venue. This should not be a set amount, but rather a cost bracket. As you begin to peruse the internet for venues, aim on the lower-end to the middle of the bracket. This will allow you to build in any incidentals once you have decided on a location. If working within a budget, then consider the following: Location for the ceremony (indoors or outdoors) and the reception (also indoors or outdoors).
Increasingly, wedding/banquet halls are beginning to provide packages for weddings; however, just as many do not. As you consider this preliminary stage, it will be wise to ask yourself a series of crucial questions.
1. Does the venue cost include rentals for tables, chairs, china, etc…? If not, how much additional cost are you looking at?
2. Does the venue provide service, including setting up for the wedding, and cleaning up afterwards?
3. Does the venue provide catering?
4. Does the venue provide decorations or an on-site decorator?
5. Will there be adequate parking for your guests?
Logically, when considering any of the above first have a very good estimate of the number of invited guests. At the end, choose a place that you love, with a competent management and support staff.
