A World In Your Pocket

It's no longer a cellular phone but a cellular device.
"Can your phone hold up to today's standards?"
With the advancements in technology, anything is possible. Whether it be a supercomputer or a tiny GPS tracking device. But what is one branch of technology that has spread across the world the quickest? The branch that is being used by millions upon millions of people? The cellular phone.

When first introduced, the cell phone was practically a brick. Bigger than the traditional house phone and anything but portable. But years have since passed and we've progressed to an age where a cell phone is much more than a device to make phone calls. Features ranging from cameras to an 802.11 WIFI enabled device all determine what we buy. Some features however have become more than a feature but a necessity. For example, the cell phone camera. This first started off as a cool gadget to have because it meant if you had your phone, you could capture any image instantly and have it saved. But then, as times progressed, so did the advancements. Cameras went from VGA to megapixel to now even rumors of a phone with a camera with an optical zoom! We've progressed from a 10-contact address book to storing hundreds to sometimes thousands of numbers. And of course, you never know how many contact you have until you find yourself reading an error message saying you don't have enough memory. Keypads to touchscreens, polyphonic to real-music ringtones, basic phone to PDA, black/gray/white to color screens.

Times have changed and will continue to change. The phone you just bought yesterday is already being outdone by the phone that's coming out today. Your dual-SIM phone is being beat by the tri-SIM phone that your neighbor just bought. Motorola left out a feature that LG is adding to their new line which Nokia is already advancing. Maybe you should take a look at your phone and wonder what else you can get out of it other than just a few phone calls.

Android is the best thing to happen to cell phones. It will mature and become a real rival for big names like microsoft and apple.

More than 700,000 americans are dumping land lines every month and keeping only cell phones as their primary phone line. And who can blame them with all the cheaper plans on every corner there is no need to be paying extra anymore!!
