"In the summer “less is more” enjoy your sun-kissed skin and try some of these summer make-up tips.
Please share some of your summer fun make-up tips."
Summer is my favorite time of the year, I love being able to run out the house with a pair of jeans and flip flops to match, not having to bother with the multi-layers of clothing is just one of the advantages. Summer is a time for relaxing and being low maintenance. Our make-up should mimic our summer fun attitudes.
During the summer months it is very important to use different shades of facial powder and foundation, than winter. If you want to avoid wearing foundation and you decide to opt for a fresher look use tinted moisturizers with SPF. For subtle coverage, tinted moisturizers can be used in place of heavier and thicker foundation and powders. The tinted moisturizers should be blended along cheekbones, and lightly applied to the rest of your face. Your complexion will have a nice glow without the heavy makeup look.
In the summer use water resistant mascara, and eyeliner, nothing is worse than a sweaty face with smudged eyeliner and mascara, especially when you are unaware of it. To achieve a long lengthy eyelash place the mascara brush on the top of the lashes, and in a slow motion go from root to the end. Then go over the lash from the root to the end from underneath. Apply waterproof eyeliner on the lid of the eye where the eyelash root meets the lid. For a natural look smudge the eyeliner.
Brown or Dark Brown Eyes try using dark brown or chocolate colored eyeliners.
Green Eyes try using lighter brown eyeliner.
Blue Eyes try using navy and brown eyeliner.
Nothing is more attractive than bright eyes. Using the right shade of eyeshadow can brighten and open your eyes. Apply the eyeshadow over your eyeliner to create a softer effect. Shimmering iridescent pearl and pale pinks can make the appearance of darkness around the eyes less noticeable. Shimmering blues especially that mimic the ocean and aqua greens can be worn by a variety of skin complexions and eye colors.
Lips need moisture not only in the winter but in the summer also, nothing is worse than applying lip color to dry chapped lips. For most, it is easier to outline our lips before applying lipstick. For a more subtle look try using lipstick first than applying the liner. In the summer go for natural neutral tones or opt to use a clear or nude gloss.
