"Do you follow fashion trends? Which recent trends have you tried?"
When you try on any of the new fashion trends out there and you fail to recognize yourself in the mirror, this may not be a good thing.
Let me focus on a few recent eastern and western fashion trends. About a year ago, patiala shalwars were the trend and desi women of all shapes, sizes, and ages were styling these items of clothing, some successfully and many shamefully. Patiala shalwars are not for those of us with a little bit more shapelier hips. The excessive amount of fabric tends to enhance the area that many women are trying to minimize. More recently, the trend is long slim kameezes/dresses with pants. This trend is fine for women who have some height, but for those of US who are vertically challenged, the lengthy tops make you look even shorter.
Next, the skinny jean is good for the young female. The skinny jean needs to be paired with a longer top and a self-assured attitude. Boys should never wear skinny jeans….PERIOD. Trends are not limited to the cut of fabric but also include colors and patterns. The key is to dress for yourself, and not for what the trend is dictating, and know your body. Wear what enhances the strong points and minimize the area(s), which all of us have, where we need some work.
